The Tezos DeFi Hackathon 2022
The start of the Tezos DeFi Hackathon 2022 kicked off with 1,125 registered developers that are participating.
The team registration form has officially closed and the 1,125 participants have formed a total of 150 teams. The teams will be supported by a total of 10 technical mentors and 28 team mentors.
Since we covered the announcement in the beginning of this year, Tezos Ukraine onboarded 10 more mentors, added 6 challenges, and increased our prize pool by $60K since then.
The total prize pool now adds up to $260,000 from almost 16 Tezos-based DeFi (14 Tezos-based and 2 Everscale-based that want to bring their tech to Tezos and Ever Surf looks to bring DeBot tech to manage Tezos Wallet) projects and Tezos Foundation.
Teams can win up to $45,000.
During the grand opening 4 workshops were broadcasted on the biggest Russian crypto related Youtube channel. Due to high interest, Tezos Ukraine decided to scale up
Vlad Likhuta from Tezos Ukraine explains:
“We planned 10 challenges: no more than 3 teams per challenge and 2 challenges per team. But the number of participants turned out to be more than expected, so we made sure that there were enough prizes for everyone.
We contacted the hackathon partners, who submitted 6 more challenges and increased the prize pool to $260,000.”
