Sega Announces Blockchain Game Based On Sangokushi Taisen

Influential game company ‘Sega’ is working on its first-ever blockchain game, based on the Sangokushi Taisen series. Ultimately, Sega has partnered with ‘Double Jump Tokyo’ to bring the blockchain game to life. Fans worldwide showed that they found the idea impressive and are looking forward to its launch. So what is this upcoming blockchain game by Sega about?

What Is Sega’s Upcoming Blockchain Game About?

On September 28, Double Jump Tokyo also announced that it secured a SEGA CORPORATION license to develop a game based on the Sangokushi Taisen theme. Currently, there are no details such as release date and platform info. However, we know the new game will leverage the use of the Oasys blockchain. It’s excellent news that Double Jump Tokyo, who created “my crypto heroes”, — a popular blockchain game, is also working on Sega’s new project.

According to the CEO and Founder of Double Jump Tokyo — Hironobu Ueno – the game will feature incredible Japanese artworks that players can enjoy while playing. Furthermore, he discussed the game  reason behind their choice to use Oasys. He explained that they chose Oasys as the chain offers fast transactions and zero gas fees while providing users with a comfortable gameplay experience. 

Indeed Sega’s faith in blockchain games has grown since their April interview on the topic. At that time, Sega was looking to integrate NFTs in its new ‘Super Game’ project. Sega’s producer Masayoshi Kikuchi said, “it is a natural extension for the future of gaming that it will expand to involve new areas such as cloud gaming and NFTs.”
