Italian fashion brand Pinko taps digital agency Mirror to develop its first NFT collection. Dubbed “Meta Love Bags,” the project launches online and in the brand’s IRL stores in SoHo, New York, and on Montenapoleone street in Milan. The initiative aims to bring Web3 into exclusive physical locations, allowing customers to experience the metaverse in stores.
The collection features 15 one-of-one digital bag artworks. One Meta Love Bag NFT goes for 0.30 ETH (approximately $347 at the time of writing) and grants holders access to a variety of perks. For instance, owners will get early access to future NFT drops and receive special offers and 10% discounts. In addition, Meta Bag holders will be eligible to participate in the “Very Important Customer” program, which will launch in 2023. The initiative will reportedly include private sales and exclusive online and offline events.
More than that, Pinko plans to develop its fashion metaverse, where users will have the opportunity to customize and dress their avatars with non-fungible token clothing items and communicate with other players.
Marco Ruffa, the Digital Transformation Director at Pinko, shared the brand’s vision of the future of digital fashion with Metaverse Post:
“Digital fashion is just at the beginning; we believe that we live in a period of experimentation and creativity. Many new initiatives are being tested now.”
He explained that Pinko’s metaverse initiative aims to dialogue with two types of clientele: loyal customers and new ones.
“When it comes to loyal customers, the goal is to make them understand Web3, the crypto, wallets, and NFTs. On the other hand, we would love to learn how digital collectibles and IRL can drive new audiences and create a new target for the brand.”
When talking about the Meta Love Bag NFTs, Marco says that the item is the brand’s Hero product that represents a wide percentage of sales. So, Pinko’s metaverse initiative transfers both its core product and its core values to the Web3 space.
“We have the possibility to craft a totally new touchpoint defining new and thrilling ways to engage consumers, keep in touch and collaborate with them. We aim to build a strong community starting from the basics and keep growing along with the growth of the metaverse,” shared Marco Ruffini with Metaverse Post.
