Farming Tales continues easing into its full production economy with a major release this week. This one brings individual products to the game, as well as utilization of barns and the implementation of storage limits.
Taking another step towards their full virtual farming and production economy, Farming Tales introduces individual farm products into the game. Previously, Farming Tales simulated farming production in their game by simply providing players with SEST, the in-game currency, whenever they would harvest. But now, players receive specific products instead. Eggs from chickens, crops from gardens, etc. This paves the way for more complex markets and item production. Any items harvested are stored in the player’s Barn
As part of this update, Barns have limited capacities now. Players can buy and stake a Barn NFT to increase their storage limits. Up to 1000 units for Epic level Barns. Important note: If you try to harvest while your barn is full, your harvest will be lost! So be careful! Also, if you decide to unstake your Barn NFT, you should sell everything inside first.
But even though we now have individual products, the only options for selling them is a “sell all” feature. So, the end result of this update is simply some extra clicking for the players. But it’s an important step forward in bringing their full production economy online. The next phase of this update, expected to arrive soon, will allow players to sell individual products.
For now, the selling fee is fixed at 0.1 CBITs per sale. This represents the gas used to transport the goods to New Waxchester (the local town). These fees will change in the future.
Farming Tales NFTs are available for purchase on Atomic Hub.
What is Farming Tales?
Farming Tales is a 3D farming and economic simulation game built on the WAX blockchain. Players own stables, gardens, coops, docks, and more. From these they harvest various resources for sale. A more full fledged economy is in the works, including refined items (e.g. wheat into flour) and complex productions such as bakery goodies. Players earn SEST, the main game currency, by selling the goods they produce.
The game is not free to play. You need to own game NFTs before you can do anything. All animals need a place to live and growing plants requires a garden. Every NFT harvested from has a real time countdown until it can be used again. Players must harvest regularly to make the most of their game items. Some items allow harvesting as often as once per hour, while others take days to grow. Finding a good balance for your playstyle and time is important.
Each harvest requires food and/or water, which players replenish by spending CBITs, a second game currency. CBITS can be purchased on external exchanges or earned in-game by staking SEST tokens. Players have multiple play to earn opportunities, which will increase as additional layers and complexity are added to the Farming Tales economic…
