What is Next Wave: The Miami Edit by Christie’s 3.0?

Next Wave: The Miami Edit is the latest auction from Christie’s 3.0, the on-chain NFT platform by Christie’s. The NFTs will go on auction from November 30 to December 7. The digital art pieces will be available for bids from various price points, estimated between 4 to 100 ETH.

“Building on the momentum of our highly successful inaugural sale, Christie’s Digital Art team is absolutely thrilled to bring to life the first various-owner sale of Christie’s 3.0,” said Nicole Sales Giles, Christie’s Director of Digital Art Sales. “We are beyond proud to be leaders in the Web3 community and are humbled to have the ability and privilege to amplify these important artistic voices in the contemporary art landscape.”

Meanwhile, those interested can view all the works from November 29 to December 3 at The Gateway 2022. This is a “Web3 Metropolis” created by NFT Now and Christie’s during Miami Art Week. Christie’s also has plans to announce additional programs.

NFTs of artists such as Dave Krugman, Random International x Danil Krivoruchko, Elf J Trul, Luis Ponce, and RhymezlikeDimez are part of the upcoming collection. Slimesunday, Cory Van Lew, Goldcat, Zancan, Andres Serrano, Ash Thorp, Ayla El-Moussa, Cath Simard, and Sasha Stiles are some of the other participating artists.

Of this, the top lot is a constantly evolving virtual sculpture called Mother Flock. It is a part of the Life in Our Minds collection, a project from the art collective, Random International. Award-winning multidisciplinary digital artist and creative director, Danil Krivoruchko, along with Hannes Koch and Florian Ortkrass, founded the collective in 2005.

A generative interactive artwork, Life in Our Minds: Mother Flock enables viewers to “physically manipulate a flock of thousands of swarming pieces of bird-like origami.” What’s more, Pace Verso, the web3 arm of Pace Gallery, and Snark.art’s OG.Art NFT platform co-produced the project.
