The mission of the George Lopez Foundation is to create positive, permanent change for underprivileged children, adults, and military families suffering from kidney disease. Each year, the Foundation hosts The George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic.

This year, George Lopez, MakersPlace, and renowned crypto NFT artist Carlos Marcial have come together to support the cause, specifically to raise funds for children with kidney disease.

Marical’s and Lopez’s shared Mexican heritage formed the inspiration for this 1/1 commissioned work that illustrates their deep roots of Latin culture.

Born in Puerto Rico, Carlos moved to Mexico as a child and lives there with his family. George, the son and grandson of migrant workers, has instead brought Mexican culture into his home for his children and grandchildren alike. The intersection celebrates these roots, their children, and a sense of family within Latin culture.

About Carlos Marcial

Carlos Marcial is a Mexican-Puerto Rican digital artist who has been involved in crypto art since 2019. Before becoming one of the first full-time crypto artists in early 2020, Marcial helped found and creatively direct a studio in Toronto, Canada that specialized in design services for blockchain projects and companies. It was at this studio that he first discovered NFTs and bought his first CryptoKitty.

Marcial is deeply interested in exploring and expanding, through his digital artworks, the connection between Latino culture and its role in developing web3 and blockchain technology. Marcial has been recognized by many inside the NFT industry as one of its leading voices from Latin America.
