The Web3 and Blockchain World conference on Nov. 8 and 9 in Toronto is working hard for a diverse program that supports human rights and progress.
W3B awards gala to support FRAFCA NFT Art Education program
Proceeds from the W3B Awards Gala on Nov. 8 will support the Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Center Association (FRAFCA) with an NFT Art Education program. FRAFCA’s mission is to foster the health and wellbeing of urban indigenous people in the Fraser Salish region by providing culturally relevant services, support and advocacy. The NFT Art Education program will be delivered by Tamara Goddard, CEO and founder of Four Our Future Indigenous Economics and co-founder of 400 Drums. This program will enable members of the FRAFCA community to harness the power of Web3 and NFTs to keep Indigenous cultures and teachings alive.
Web3 and indigenous economics
At the W3B event, Goddard will be giving a mainstage session on the topic of Web3 and indigenous economics with a live art demo by David Fierro, chief operations officer at Four Our Future Indigenous Economics. This work is part of their 400 Drums project — a campaign dedicated to supporting indigenous elders, artists, language speakers and tour operators to harness new online platforms that monetize their skills while sharing their teachings and stories. David Fierro will also be speaking in a campfire session on the topic of blockchain in the creative industries, while Tamara Goddard will hold a campfire session on the topic of “Blockchain for social impact.” Visit the site for more information.
