Walking Dead: Empires brings us a new, pre-alpha demo at the end of this month. This multiplayer, strategic, zombie killing game that plans to include PvE, PvP, base building, crafting, and land ownership, gives us a preview of their gaming experience.
On August 30th, Walking Dead: Empires opens up a pre-alpha demo of their game. And though it doesn’t include all of the planned features, players will still have a chance to wield a variety of weapons as they fend off Walkers, gather resources, and build a safe base for themselves.
The demo runs for 48 hours and features a section of the world that is equivalent in size to nine Ancient plots. Nine times bigger than the demo they showed at Galaverse earlier this summer. The team promises that there will be much to explore in these lands, and that a notable landmark will appear in the demo as well.
Combat has undergone a bit of re balancing since the last demo. And though the selection of weapons is only part of what will be available in the full game, they still wanted to give players some strategic options when selecting their equipment.
The playtest opens to everyone at 12pm PST, August 30th and runs until 12pm on September 1st. A few streamers will be granted early access. So keep an eye on Twitch if you want to see the game before the demo opens to everyone. The team plans to hold an AMA on August 31st.
Walking Dead: Empires also plans to have a sale for Arsenal crafting stations during the demo event. These stations allow players to craft ranged weapons. This includes bows, crossbows, handguns, shotguns, and other bullet-throwing weapons. This initial sale sees the prices for Arsenal crafting stations reduced by 50%. We haven’t been given an exact date (or price range) for the sale, so keep an eye on the Gala Games Discord for future sale announcements.

As players upgrade their base, they must defend it against waves of walkers intent on breaking down the walls and destroying the base’s flag. Players can also own special NFTs such as forges, laboratories, and furniture. Place these NFTs into your base to provide additional bonuses or functionality.
The game offers a variety of melee and ranged weapons, many (if not all) of which can be crafted by players. Each weapon comes with its own set of special attacks. Players harvest and scavenge materials to use in crafting and base building. In Walking Dead: Empires, players can also own land. The bigger the land plot, the more allies that can join you. Common plots can have up to three players in an alliance while ancient plots can support as many as 50!
The game will feature PvP. It will also have play-to-earn opportunities through the accumulation of DeadCoin, a token on…
