The Sandbox Reveals Builder’s Challenge with 1M SAND Prize Pool

The Sandbox announced it will launch its upcoming Builder’s Challenge on February 12, 2024. This competition aims to showcase creators’ talents and innovative spirit worldwide, offering an impressive prize pool of 1,000,000 SAND. Over ten weeks, participants will seek to engage the Sandbox community with their unique creations, leveraging the latest features of their free tool, Game Maker 0.9.

Unleashing Creativity

The Builder’s Challenge revolves around three crucial steps: Publish, Engage, and Earn. Creators are encouraged to introduce new experiences or creative twists on existing genres, focusing on replayability and a compelling First Time User Experience (FTUE) to attract and retain players. Optimizing the Experience Page, engaging with the community, and collaborating with content creators for promotions are essential strategies for boosting visibility.

Rewarding Engagement

At the heart of the Sandbox Builder’s Challenge lies the Engagement Pool, a reward system designed to recognize creators based on the level of player interaction they generate. The Engagement Pool rewards creators based on community growth, player engagement, and session length. The more experiences you publish and the more players interact with and spend time in your creations, the bigger your rewards.

Creators participating in the Builder’s Challenge can track their progress and understand the impact of their efforts through a dedicated analytics page. This invaluable feature provides insights into session lengths, the number of visits, and, specifically, visits from players who have completed at least one quest. With this data, creators can monitor their Experience’s performance and strategize for maximum engagement.

Throughout the Builder’s Challenge, participants can gain recognition and tangible rewards through weekly SAND distributions. This initiative by The Sandbox aims to propel digital creation and community engagement in the Metaverse.

The Sandbox advises ensuring your eligibility for rewards by completing the KYC (Know Your Customer) process if you’re an individual, or the KYB (Know Your Business) process if you’re representing a corporate entity.

The Sandbox Builders’ Challenge Eligibility

To join The Builders’ Challenge, participants must meet specific eligibility criteria. Participants must be of legal age, possess a functional wallet for rewards, and comply with The Sandbox’s Terms of Use. Moreover, creators must save their creations using the latest Game Maker 0.9 version and keep their accounts active on seven different days to demonstrate true engagement. 

Notably, experiences involved in other events or owned by The Sandbox employees, partners, or contractors are not eligible. The top 100 experiences will be checked for integrity, with bans issued for malpractice. However, experiences from Game Jams on the LAND of a Brand or IP and those on The Sandbox-owned land are eligible for rewards, excluding those under the Land Leasing Program.
