Metaverse platform The Sandbox partners with global insurer AXA Hong Kong and Macau.
AXA Hong Kong has purchased a 3×3 LAND that will function as an interactive space for the company’s customers. The insurer aims to provide innovative digital experiences and plans to develop the future of insurance in the Metaverse. With this strategic move, AXA becomes the first-ever insurer to enter the Metaverse.
“AXA’s milestone as the first insurance company in Hong Kong to join The Sandbox is another step toward our vision of the open Metaverse as a new digital economy where industries, brands, and cultures from around the world interact with players and creators for mutual benefit. We’re glad to support AXA’s commitment to being a force for good and look forward to creating shared value for our communities,”
said the COO and co-founder of The Sandbox, Sebastien Borget.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong is building a virtual cultural hub, The Sandbox’s Mega City. The digital platform already counts several Hong Kong artists, companies, and brands. For instance, Mega City hosts Gameone, Tatler Asia, EVI, Brinc, MADworld, Chord Hero, Time Gates of Hong Kong Pop Culture, Ocean Park, and UFO School. More than that, in April this year, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited purchased a LAND in Mega City and became the first bank in The Sandbox.
Among other international companies that have acquired The Sandbox’s LANDs to provide virtual services and entertainment activities are Warner Music Group, Gucci, Ubisoft, Playboy, and Adidas, as well as notable celebrities.
