Web3 gamers are embracing the popularity of livestreaming as a way to expand their audiences and grow their earnings, and the innovation is sparking more rapid growth in what is already one of the most promising niches in the blockchain industry.

By livestreaming their gameplay on platforms such as Azarus, blockchain gamers can generate new sources of income while increasing their own reputation and status in the gaming world through the novel use of incentives. With Azarus, it’s possible for gamers to reward their audiences with digital tokens for watching and interacting with their content.

Azarus has hit upon the idea of using multi-tiered incentives to encourage audiences to interact with their favorite Web3 game streamers, encouraging the growth of stronger communities around some of the most popular live-streamed blockchain games. Its platform has grown to encompass more than 20 million users and players, and has helped to distribute more than $2 million worth of rewards, helping to boost the appeal of a number of engaging Web3 titles.

Let’s check out some of the best games for livestreaming audiences:

1. My Pet Hooligan

The fast-paced first-person shoot ‘em up My Pet Hooligan offers a perfect mix of chaotic landscapes, wacky characters and competitive battles that make it an ideal game for livestreaming audiences.

The game sees players take control of unique NFT-based rabbit warriors who are in open revolt against their dictator-like Meta ZuckBot overlord, with multiple factions vying to take over. It’s a battle royale-style game that’s obviously influenced by the likes of Fortnite, Ratchet and Clank, GTA and Zootopia, with the addition of innovative AI features that leverage motion capture technology to enable players to control the facial expressions of their on-screen rabbits.

Its maps are enormous, the graphics are great, there are dozens of crazy weapons to wield, and the dramatic shootouts are just one aspect of the game, with exploration modes adding to its allure for both gamers and audiences alike.

In the Coinpocalypse battle mode, My Pet Hooligan pits multiple players against each other, grouped into teams, who are required to defeat their enemies in a winner-takes-all battle for some serious prizes. There’s also a last man standing “Anarchy mode” in which the last surviving rabbit is the only one to collect the rewards, and both game modes make for some serious excitement for viewers, which means extra points for those who livestream their victories.

The game can be downloaded via the Epic Games Store, and it’s fast becoming one of the most popular livestreamed blockchain games.

2. LandRocker

It’s not just the fast paced action of shoot ‘em ups that appeal to livestreaming audiences. Strategy games have a distinct allure too, and one of the most popular titles in that genre this year is LandRocker.

The space exploration game is proving to be a real hit with audiences, thanks to its mix of gameplay modes that include exploration, resource management, combat and more. The LandRocker universe encompasses literally hundreds of thousands of alien planets, which players are compelled to explore with their NFT Rovers in search of precious resources that can be sold for cryptocurrency. Some planets are home to vast amounts of these resources, while others only have scarce amounts, but the player won’t know it until they explore it, while competing against other players and an aggressive alien race that’s equally determined to beat them to it.

Besides exploring the planets, players must manage a mining operation to efficiently capture those resources, while fending off attempts from their rivals to steal everything they have. Players can alternatively take on the aliens in an effort to free the planets they have enslaved.

Each planet has a unique set of resources to discover and harvest, together with its own environment, and players must carefully manage their resources to be able to exploit them to the fullest extent. They’ll need to ensure they have enough fuel to power their Rover, while also leaving enough aside to power their mining operations. Then they have to sell those resources on the open marketplace, earning cryptocurrency that can be used to supercharge their Rovers and buy more advanced weaponry.

The most successful players will be able to take control of an entire planet, opening the door to passive income opportunities, where they can sell mining rights to other players. But they must remain vigilant, as there is always a risk that some other player will try to take over the planet using military means.

LandRocker is one of the most ambitious exploration-based strategy games on the blockchain, and is known for its next-level transparency. The game is the pioneer of a “dynamic roadmap” that enables the community to keep track of the progress of multiple initiatives it has planned. The LandRocker roadmap is a kind of “living document” that shows how far along each proposed update or new feature is, and it’s updated in real-time. It’s used to keep track of everything that the game’s developers have planned, be it a new map, new weapons or Rovers, a token listing on a new crypto exchange, updated graphics, new characters or something else.

LandRocker believes it’s setting a new standard for Web3 transparency with its dynamic roadmap, and the refreshing openness is believed to be one of the main reasons for its growing popularity with gamers and gaming audiences alike.

3. MixMob: Racer 1

Many gaming audiences feel a need for speed and that is why MixMob’s Racer 1 is proving to be another extremely big hit in the livestreaming world. It’s an ultra-fast racing experience that’s bursting with excitement and innovation, as players go all out for the prize pool that’s only made available to the race winner.

The winner-takes-all format ensures that every Racer 1 race is a competitive, thrill-packed struggle, with players desperate to win the rewards on offer in order to level up their MixMob NFTs. MixMob is a player-owned metaverse that depicts a futuristic, fantasy world where humanity’s “culture” has been deleted and the human race enslaved by a malevolent AI.

As such, Racer 1, just like the MixMob metaverse, has a distinctive “remix” feel about it. The gameplay is like a combination of Mario Kart and Hearthstone, where high-speed adrenaline is mixed with card strategy tactics to determine the outcome of each race.

Players compete to win MXM tokens, which provide utility to non-participants, making it an ideal game for livestreaming audiences. The game operates an MXM League system, with regular race schedules at various player-owned “Turbo Arena” venues. By bridging eSports with Web3, these Turbo Arenas also serve as “liquidity pools” where viewers can stake MXM tokens to participate in governance. They can form and manage racing teams, unlock rewards for their contributions, set the prize pool on offer for each race, establish the rules and claim a percentage of the revenue each meeting generates.

With so many opportunities for viewers to interact, it’s no wonder that Racer 1 has emerged as one of the most popular blockchain games for livestreaming audiences, and there are plenty of updates on the horizon to keep those audiences engaged. Planned updates include the launch of four-player races, unique Player IDs, special missions that give competitors the chance to win even more rewards in each race, and new collectibles including MixMob Masks and Gen0 MixBot NFTs.

Livestreaming makes a difference

Livestreaming platforms introduce an exciting new dynamic to blockchain games, fostering vibrant communities where gamers can build up a loyal fanbase and share in the rewards they earn. It’s a novel innovation that promises to overcome one of the major roadblocks for Web3 games, showing audiences how to get to grips with the underlying blockchain dynamics and benefit from owning their in-game assets.

By connecting audiences to the best blockchain gamers, livestreaming platforms can break down the barriers to adoption in the Web3 gaming industry, and introduce more people to one of the most exciting use cases for crypto and NFTs.
