Stocks were little changed on Wednesday as investors waited on news of fiscal stimulus from Washington. The Federal Reserve kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged and pledged to continue its bond-buying program until “substantial further progress has been made” in the economic recovery and inflation. A worse-than-expected decline in retail sales in November hurt sentiment.
