Polygon Labs Launches Copilot AI Assistant with Help from OpenAI’s ChatGPT

Polygon has joined Solana and Etherscan and launched an AI assistant, Copilot, that integrates ChatGPT and offers users varying functions.

Ethereum scaling platform Polygon has joined the artificial intelligence (AI) race and launched an AI assistant called Polygon Copilot. The Copilot’s interface integrates GPT 4 from OpenAI to offer users an easy way to interact with the product using easy language.

An official release states that Polygon Copilot helps to level the playing field for new and experienced users. Polygon also advertises Copilot’s usefulness for a wide array of users:

“Trained on the extensive documentation of Polygon protocols, Polygon Copilot provides valuable insights, analytics and guidance across different aspects of the ecosystem. Whether you’re looking to grasp the basics or explore advanced features, Polygon Copilot caters to users of all levels.”

Polygon breaks down Copilot by segmenting it into different “personas” to cater to each user’s experience level. For instance, Copilot has a Beginner persona with simple language for users unfamiliar with the Polygon ecosystem. A Beginner also offers guidance on several ecosystem components and helps with basic building on the platform. Furthermore, there is the Advanced persona for users and developers with experience and knowledge of minting, smart contracts, coding, and several advanced features.

Lastly, the Degen persona is for those interested in analytics and insights on wallets, NFT collections, and decentralized applications (dApps).

Polygon Copilot Safeguards for Transparency and Growth

Polygon restricts responses provided by Copilot to prevent spamming. These responses are also limited to lessen the computation load on the AI assistant. However, Polygon offers credits to users willing to share feedback or contribute to social tasks. Extra credits may also be available to a few lucky users.

The Polygon team promises transparency on Copilot. The assistant is designed to include the information source so users can easily verify. In addition, Copilot takes interaction a step further by proposing questions related to initial queries to engage users in similar subject matters and areas of interest.

Polygon added that future versions of Copilot will cater to more personas than the three announced. Furthermore, users will enjoy plugins that expand the AI assistant’s functionalities to include task automation at all levels.

Web3 AI Assistants

Solana Labs launched an AI plugin powered by ChatGPT. According to Solana, the plugin can help users buy and list non-fungible tokens (NFTs), interpret data, find collections by floor price, and verify transactions. Furthermore, the feature works with an RPC node that can read data from the blockchain and then help answer users’ questions. For instance, anyone can ask to find out available NFTs in the price range of SOL tokens held by the user.

Another AI-powered feature is the Code Reader recently launched by Ethereum block explorer Etherscan, which integrates ChatGPT. Currently in beta mode, Code Reader helps users identify smart contract source codes “by generating AI prompts for specific code sections or functions”. However, Etherscan has warned that users should not take the information generated at face value or rely on it for evidence.
