Sony Electronics is set to release its latest 4k camera, the PTZ camera model BRC-AM7. This camera features integrated lenses and AI auto framing at 4k 60p. It has enough power to capture virtual productions and immersive technology outputs, enabling the full integration of 3D computer graphics.
It boasts an impressive range of features, such as PTZ Auto Framing technology backed by artificial intelligence, a 1.0-type 4K compatible Exmor RS™ CMOS sensor, and a BIONZ XR® image-processing engine that enables the capturing of footage in complete 4K.
Likewise, the BRC-AM7 also features a 20x optical zoom, all set in a compact and lightweight frame. What sets this camera apart from its competitors, however, is its ability to capture immersive reality-based footage, presenting new opportunities for content creation in the immersive space with compatibility with programs such as free-d protocol that facilitates the capture of real-time 3D computer graphics.
This new 4k camera from Sony Electronics represents an interesting shift in how we view and use cameras beyond 2D imagery but in 3D, offering new ways to capture ‘virtual engagements’ using immersive tools.
