Metaverse platforms Decentraland, Spatial, and Roblox are ready to host the first-ever Metaverse Beauty Week. The experience was developed in partnership with creative agency CULT and metaverse experience developer Exclusible.
The virtual event will take place on June 12 to 17. During these days, several brands will host various virtual experiences across the platforms. Visitors will have a chance to try on wearable beauty NFTs like hair and makeup for in-game avatars, participate in contests, and win digital and real-life prizes.
This year’s lineup includes Lush, Neutrogena, and retailer Flannels Beauty. In addition to the virtual experiences, these companies will conduct real-life events, all under the topic “Reality Gets A Makeover.”
Metaverse Beauty Week will also feature beauty influencers and AR creators, including Ines Alpha, Vegas City, Polycount, Immersive Kind, and CK Bubbles.
It’s worth noting that several well-known beauty brands have already stepped into the web3 space. Among these are Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, NYX, and YSL Beauty. Clinique has released an augmented reality experience. Dermalogica has recently started using ChatGPT to certify beauty therapist professionals and upskill its employees.
Overall, the beauty industry has been investing in tech-based innovations such as virtual product try-ons and filters. Companies have also been testing personalized AI services, such as shade recommendations.
Metaverse Beauty Week, being a global virtual event, signals a significant change in beauty’s expansion from Web2, where its less dazzling presence and solutions-based approach set the stage for rapid growth.
However, this year, Metaverse Beauty Week might experience a slight drop in the amount of media exposure, as top beauty brands will not be present.
