LimeWire held the Metaverse Music Festival in Decentraland last week. The music NFT marketplace partnered with 17 artists for a groundbreaking four-day, 927-minute music event.
The lineup for the Metaverse Music Festival included Soulja Boy, Elijah Blake, A$AP TyY, Big Draco, Blake, Quincy, EscapePlan, Lil Bitcoin, Orrin, and several other celebrated artists. LimeWire provided attendees with digital merch, such as glasses and digital sneakers. The NFT platform ranked as the second top creator in Decentraland, and its digital sneakers were the third most-sold item in the metaverse. In addition, festival guests claimed over 3,000 glasses in the form of NFTs.
Fifteen stages featured interactive experiences and performances by over 180 musicians of various genres. The Main Stage had a VIP-exclusive area for LimeWire Originals NFT holders and special guests. The Originals NFTs were created in collaboration with Soulja Boy back in July.
LimeWire is a 2000s P2P file-sharing platform that closed down in 2010 and was then resurrected in 2022 as a music-themed NFT marketplace. It has made its way through the Web3 market with eminent partnerships.
The platform partnered with music celebrities Travis Barker, Nicky Jam, Gramatik, Brandy, 7 Aurelius, Elijah Blake, Aitch, Maino, and Dillon Francis to launch an NFT collection. In May, LimeWire teamed up with Universal Music Group to release innovative Web3 projects. One of the music NFT marketplace’s most recent collaborations was with the famous nightclubs Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel and Hï Ibiza to grant Originals NFT holders access to the VIP area in the clubs.
