aespa, the “virtual hybrid” K-pop group created by SM Entertainment, has joined forces with Sotheby’s to launch an NFT collection dubbed “æ Girls.”
For the launch, the quartet partnered with NFT artst Blake Kathryn, marking the first-ever collaboration of its kind. The collection consists of three main parts, including “MY Pass” — an access key for any fan or collector. Those who purchase the pass can receive a free NFT from a collection of 16 different pieces created by the group’s members NINGNING, GISELLE, KARINA and WINTER.
“ae Girls” also features “Altars,” a range of 32 special and limited-edition digital artworks. The NFTs are built based on aespa’s signature “KWANGYA” aesthetic along with the group’s metaverse. The collection is complete with “Dreamspace,” which is an exclusive one-off artwork offering a full fan experience with a video recording of the quartet and Blake Kathryn, in addition to a virtual meet-and-greet as well as a fully paid, physical meet-and-greet at aespa’s concert in Seoul.
Take a sneak peek at “ae Girls” down below. The aespa NFT collection is available via Sotheby’s Metaverse until October 21 at 11 a.m. EST. In addition to the launch, Sotheby’s hosted a preview exhibition of all the digital works in Hong Kong earlier this month, which is followed by an exhibition in New York until October 20.
