15 December 2022 will be a day of the celebration of Web3 as the day will witness the very first Web3 gaming awards ceremony.
The very first Web3 gaming awards ceremony to be hosted by Polkastarter Gaming will be held on 15 December. The awards ceremony, officially named GAM3 Awards, intends to recognize the year’s best Web3 games, and will also highlight the best content creator.
These awards are a celebration of the highest-quality Web3 games and the event boasts industry leaders, ecosystems, and media outlets, and rewards the top game developers with monetary prizes and services valued at over $300,000.
As per reports, the nominees for the 2023 GAM3 Blockchain Gaming Awards have been revealed by Polkstarter. The initial round saw 106 unique games across 13 categories and 13 chains, with a narrowing down of final nominees to 32 unique games. Interestingly, the top three networks which comprised most of the Web3 games include Polygon, BNB Chain, and Solana.
What’s the selection criteria?
The games will be judged on the basis of several criteria, such as gameplay graphics, gameplay mechanics, core loop, accessibility, fun elements, replayability factor, and overall gameplay experience.
Among the total 16 categories which are to be judged, some of them include Game of the Year, Best Graphics, Best action game, Best mobile game, etc.
Know the jury
An all-star jury for this event includes Urvit Goel (Polygon Studios), Matt Sorg (Solana Foundation), Rachel Levin (ImmutableX), and Justin Kan (Twitch & Fractal founder), among others.
Here, it must be noted that the jury’s vote will carry 90% weight, with the remaining 10% will be decided by community voting. Interestingly, while awards such as the Game of the Year will be decided solely by the panel, other awards like ‘The Player’s Choice Award’ and ‘Best Content Creator’ will be decided by the community.
