Sorare has welcomed Paris Saint German to their game, and with it legendary football star Lionel Messi has entered the fantasy football NFT card game. The first card auctioned of the Argentinian superstar was a Limited card, selling for $11.192. A card with the serial number 2 sold for $3356, showing how much value users put in the first mint.
Despite the Limited card selling for well over 11 thousand dollars, it’s important to note that this is indeed a Limited card. These yellow-colored cards have been newly introduced, and have a supply of a maximum of 1000 cards per football player per season. Currently Rare cards are also listed for auction, the first one of these sold later today for more than $24.000.
Paris Saint Germain is just one of the latest additions to Sorare. The fantasy football game keeps expanding its footprint. Last week the first club from Peru joined the game, while the week before the game welcomed La Liga.
Sorare has recently moved its ecosystem to a layer-2 solution, allowing users to trade NFTs without having the deal with gas fees. Not only can users see their transferred and earned NFTs much faster, but Sorare also doesn’t need to cover all the gas fees. It’s really a win-win situation that’s saving the tech startup millions of dollars per year.

Every week the teams with the most points will earn new cards as a reward. The cheapest cards generally sell for a couple of dollars, while the most wanted ones go for well over a thousand dollars a piece. Join the game!

However, from a gameplay point of view you’d want the cards of players that do important work for their team. For example players with a high pass completion, or strikers that score lots of goals, and defenders that make lots of tackles.

Players earn points based on the real-life performance of those players. Therefore players that play regularly, are active in winning team, hardly make…
