Virtual reality platform Decentraland will host the Metaverse Music Festival. The event will take place on November 10 to 13 on Genesis Plaza (-62,70).
To celebrate the Festival, Decentraland launches a dancing and signing Emote contest. The winner will receive 800 $MANA and the title of the official Emote of the festival. Users that win second through tenth places will receive 600 $MANA each. Individuals can submit their best moving Emotes through October 31. It’s worth noting that Decentraland will use the best Emote in promotional materials for the Festival so the whole Metaverse will see the winner’s creation.
Players can also design wearables inspired by this year’s theme, “Cyberpunk meets nature,” and get featured on Decentraland’s Marketplace. The initiative is open through October 25.
While the Metaverse Music Festival is free to attend and does not require any professional equipment, such as VR headsets, visitors need to pre-register for the event on a dedicated website.
In 2021, the Decentraland Festival lasted four days, during which the community claimed 51,947 POAPs and received 11,204 NFTs. Over eighty artists performed throughout the event, including Paris Hilton, RAC, Deadmau5, Alison Wonderland, and 3LAU.
In August this year, Decentraland also hosted the third annual Metaverse Art Week, “The World is Made of Code,” which featured exclusive Frida Kahlo art. It took inspiration from global art exhibitions, Venice Biennale, and Miami Art Basel and featured such noted companies as Artnet, Sotheby’s, and Estée Lauder.
