Bowie in the Metaverse
The collection in question was first released on September 30, 2022, and comprised 15 pieces in total. The pieces will be on sale until November 3, 2022, and all the proceeds will be donated to the CARE organization, a charity supported by Bowie’s widow.
The specific NFT that sold for 96.5 ETH was an animated clip as well as a digital statue wearing one of Bowie’s iconic outfits. According to FEWOCiOUS, this piece was a celebration of Bowie’s authenticity as an artist.
“I thought it was so cool that he was always what he wanted to be. And created a world that he wanted to live in. That’s really the feeling I try to capture in my art,” he said in the description.
