Adult entertainment website Brazzers announces the upcoming launch of its own metaverse. Based on the existing platform Joi City, the space will feature different types of content. Notably, players will have the possibility to access the platform using extended and virtual reality devices, such as Oculus Rift or Quest 2.
According to the official Twitter page of the project, Joi City will showcase models’ holograms and 3D volumetric videos created by 3D video producer Holly Randall. The platform will also feature a virtual dance club with DJ sets and other virtual public spaces.
Users will have the opportunity to live in metaverse penthouses or apartments located in Joi City, with possible customizations of their houses possible thanks to NFTs. Citizens of Joi City will also be able to communicate and invite guests to their virtual homes.
The platform goes live on January 11. Individuals can now sign up for early access on a dedicated page.
The new project is a significant development in the adult entertainment industry, as it will allow users to interact with each other and the performers realistically. The metaverse will also offer new opportunities for marketing and product placement.
Before Brazzers, the adult magazine Playboy introduced several metaverse initiatives. In July of this year, the company launched its “MetaMansion” experience in The Sandbox. Following this, Playboy filed an NFT trademark with plans to release images, avatars, and other downloadable media.
