V-Race is a pro running race series organized annually by VnExpress. Held for the first time in 2021, V-Race has had six races and claims a total of nearly 25,000 participants so far.
2022 has seen V-Race return with a new event format called V-Race The Bull Run, which integrates blockchain and NFT technology into the race experience. Runners can register for one of the following challenges: 10 km, 30 km, 50 km, 70 km or 100 km to be completed within three weeks, running from December 30th, 2022 to January 20th, 2023.
Co-organized with Aura Network the aim is to give a boost to awareness and to spread messaging to Blockchain and Web3 communities around the world.
“Empowered by blockchain and NFT technology, V-Race The Bull Run 2022 pioneers to break the limits of time and location, and open up a whole new world where the entire community can participate in running,” said Giang Tran, CEO of Aura Network.
As long as participants can complete the registered distance in the permitted time, the virtual event does not limit the number of daily runs or the number of kilometres undertaken per day. At the end of the race, event organizers will rank runners based on the total time to complete the distance(s).
The top 100 runners at each distance will receive an NFT medal powered by Aura Network. This NFT is distributed randomly with ‘guaranteed uniqueness and privacy’. The top 100 are also awarded a physical medal dedicated for their registered distance.
