This collaboration follows the nation’s football victory in the most current FIFA World Cup tournament. The Argentina Football League’s entry into the Metaverse is thus made possible by their relationship with Upland.
The collaboration is the result of a deal between Upland, a company situated in Silicon Valley, and the Argentine Football Association (AFA). Upland promotes itself as “the biggest digital asset strategic game connected to the planet” on its website. Through this partnership, AFA will embark on the Liga Profesional de Ftbol (LPF) on a wonderful virtual journey.
The Argentine Football Association, or AFA, which manages the national soccer competition, is currently expanding into the metaverse. The company has partnered with Upland, a real-world mapping metaverse initiative, to give its clients access to the metaverse and the benefits of being in closer contact with well-known groups and players.
Following a statement made by the AFA, The cooperation between Upland and the AFA will reportedly comprise visual representations of all the league’s squads, involving players, vouchers, contests, historical moments, and platform-exclusive experiences. In theory, this will also help the league draw in younger, Web3-focused supporters as well as digital soccer collectors. The four-year arrangement, the first of its kind by the AFA, intends to increase revenue for the Argentine Soccer League by allowing the sale of numerous licensed digital assets.
AFA President Claudio Fabian Tapia said:
“This business development strategic collaboration with Upland is something we are excited to announce. The Argentine Professional League has been waiting patiently for opportunities to use innovations to improve the spectator experience. With the help of this agreement, we will be able to collaborate with the top developers of cutting-edge technology and new digital goods, opening up a new revenue stream for all participating clubs. We warmly welcome Upland as a new business associate of the Argentine Professional Football League and our Argentine Football Association”.
Upland’s co-founder and co-CEO, Dirk Lueth, said:
“We are pleased with the lifting licensing agreement and connection with the AFA, which will enable us to keep developing Upland’s network and global footprint. With AFA, we can provide Argentine fans—both new and seasoned—with more chances than ever before, enabling them with the actual purpose of web3, which is centered on community and entrepreneurship and enables fans to give back ideas and inventions to display their squad dignity in fun new ways”.
The metaverse has already been adopted by several international soccer leagues and some of its teams. With agreements with Globant and Dapper Labs to increase its metaverse footprint and create markets for authorized digital products, Spain’s official soccer league, the Spanish Laliga, is already deeply involved in metaverse-related efforts.
