Animoca Auctioned F1 Delta Time Track for $104.808 – Play to Earn

Animoca Brands auctioned the track segment Formula 1 Rolex Grand Prix de Spa-Francorchamps 2020 1A for the racing game F1 Delta Time for 1.8 million REVV or almost 105 thousand dollars. The player-owned track segment for the racing game F1 Delta Time is now the third most valuable NFT in the game’s ecosystem. It’s the fourth time a track segment sold, and the second time the track had an Apex rarity status.

A gamer or collector nicknamed SFLL had the highest bid in the auction. Aside from the track segment, SFLL owns a great variety of game assets for F1 Delta Time. However, Animoca Brands hasn’t accepted the winning bid yet and therefore the asset has not been transferred at the time of writing.

Formula 1 Rolex Grand Prix de Spa-Francorchamps 2020 1A is the second Apex track segment that Animoca sold for F1 Delta Time. Last month Metapurse acquired the Grand Prix de Monaco 2020 1A for 223 thousand dollars, which is still the most valuable asset in the ecosystem. Metapurse is an investment fund that has been flexing its wallet in recent weeks, also acquiring every Beeple artwork that was sold in December.

A digital asset with the Apex rarity is the most rare asset of its kind in the F1 Delta Time ecosystem. Track-owners receive a percentage of all racing fees for races happening on their tracks. The more rare the track is, the higher their fees will be. Because there’s a maximum of one Apex NFT per track segment, these will always have the highest revenue.
