Amazon in the Hunt for a Senior Web3 Go-To-Market Specialist to Join AWS

Amazon is looking for a senior Go-to-Market specialist to join Amazon Web Services (AWS). The GTM team is responsible for scaling the adoption of web3 workloads on AWS. The company is specifically searching for an individual with knowledge of blockchain-based infrastructures and the developer workflow for Layer 1 and 2 blockchains.

In the job advert posted on the e-commerce company’s jobs page, the ideal candidate also should have a clear understanding of blockchain architecture at the intersection of web3 and games.

Describing the role in the advert, Amazon says the individual will be responsible for “[identifying] new workload patterns and use cases, drive lighthouse engagements, develop and execute scalable adoption programs to drive awareness and adoption of Web3 workloads.”

As part of the team responsible for Web3 GTM, the person will also be charged with developing scalable GTM motions growing the business footprint in new markets and identifying prospects for long-term business opportunities.

Amazon’s preference for a person with operating experience in Web3 and blockchain-based workloads aligns with the recent news that the company was planning an NFT initiative with a focus on games.

The news came out last week via undisclosed sources who spoke to Blockworks saying that Amazon “plans to make public its NFTs and blockchain gaming initiatives at the start of the second quarter of 2023.”

This is not the first time Amazon’s AWS is looking to build a business linked to web3. Last month, the company also announced a partnership with web3 firm Ava Labs, the parent organisation of Layer 1 blockchain platform Avalanche Network. This partnership is crucial to Amazon’s plans for onboarding consumer-facing businesses to AWS’ web3 initiatives.

“Imagine a world where transactions—selling a house, trading an asset, paying out a claim—finalize in seconds or less. Contract, payment, and receipts are all tied together in a single action, with the history of the trade permanently logged,” the company wrote.

The company’s bid to recruit a Go-To-Market specialist will further accelerate its web3 based on the technical skills required for the position.

The individual should have “strong technical knowledge around cloud-native applications, with the ability to go deep enough on technical aspects at the intersection of Web3 and cloud computing,” one bullet point in the role and responsibilities section reads.
