Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organised a book festival featuring recently published books under its banner at the National Art Gallery Auditorium on Wednesday.
The book festival was organised with the support of the academy’s research and publishing department.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy secretary Md Asaduzzaman delivered the welcome speech while writers and researchers discussed about the books at the festival, which was presided over by the academy’s director general Liaquat Ali Lucky.
The event featured discussion on writer and translator Abdus Selim-written book titled 5 Monchanubad, Saidur Rahman Lipon-written Abhonoy Onushiloner Sutrasandhan, Muhammad Farid Hasan-written Sangskritik Byakttier Smritite Bangabandhu, Moni Haider-written Bangabandhu o Muktijuddher Golpo, Sanjib Das Apu-written Charukalay Bangladesher Ganaandalan, Nigar Chowdhury-written Prachin Bangla Ebong Bangalir Kabbye Nritya and Bangladesher Panchas.
Besides, Shaon Akand, Saikat Habib, Masuduzzaman, Zakir Talukder and others spoke on Liaquat Ali Lucky-edited eight books, namely Ami O Amar Shilpa Jibon; Smrity Swata Bhobshat-2; Janmasatabarshe Bangabandhu; Bangabandhur Upor Rochito Granther Path Porjalochona; Bangladesh Ate Bibhag Sangskritik Boishisto, Monishi Enong Songskritijonder Jibon O Kormokotha and others.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy singers entertained the audience by rendering songs, namely Dao Sourjo Dao Dhorjo and Monero Rong Legeche while the academy’s dancers performed dance recitals synchronised with the songs Birpurush and Monero Rong Legeche.
