Sky Mavis Partners with ACT Games to Expand Web3 Gaming on Ronin Platform

Sky Mavis has announced a strategic partnership with ACT Games to bring Web3 game ZOIDS WILD ARENA onto the Ronin platform.

In a significant development within the Web3 gaming ecosystem Sky Mavis, the Web3 gaming company behind the popular game Axie Infinity, announced a strategic partnership with ACT Games.

ACT Games is a distinguished South Korean studio, with a history of partnering with esteemed Japanese intellectual properties (IPs) such as Hello Kitty, ZOIDS, Aggretsuko and Bubble Bobble. The new collaboration aims to usher in the migration of ACT Games’ portfolio onto the Ronin blockchain platform, with flagship offering ZOIDS WILD ARENA leading the way.

The game is a blockchain-based trading card game inspired by the acclaimed anime series produced by TOMY Company, Ltd., Japan’s leading toy manufacturer.

“The partnership is important to the Web3 ecosystem because it represents a bridge between the traditional entertainment world and the emerging Web3 gaming landscape,” Trung Nguyen, CEO and Co-founder of Sky Mavis told Metaverse Post. “Together with ACT Games, we aim to set the stage for a new era where beloved IPs and blockchain technology merge to offer fans and gamers alike a unique and engaging Web3 gaming experience.”

A Unique Web3 Gaming Experience

ACT Games’ most recent creation ZOIDS WILD ARENA, is a blockchain trading card game (TCG) that draws inspiration from the “ZOIDS WILD” and “ZOIDS WILD ZERO” anime series, both integral parts of the renowned ZOIDS franchise. In this virtual card-based battleground, players engage in battles, trade cards and make purchases, emulating the traditional dynamics of TCG gameplay.

ACT Games said it also plans to introduce of a new category of casual games featuring beloved characters from the Hello Kitty universe, scheduled for release in 2024.

Sky Mavis’s Trung believes that ZOIDS WILD ARENA’s introduction to the blockchain gaming space will open up new possibilities for fans to engage with their favorite characters and offers a piece of the iconic franchise ownership through NFTs.

He told Metaverse Post that the company’s ultimate goal is to enable the next generation of game developers to use digital collectibles to build more immersive experiences for gamers.

Players who opt to migrate to a Ronin wallet will have the opportunity to unlock rewards, including exclusive ZOIDS NFTs and a token airdrop. ZOIDS WILD ARENA enthusiasts can register and start playing immediately, with rewards claimable following the official migration slated for November 8, 2023.

“Ronin will be able to bring more utility to Web3 through new and existing IPs. Additionally, fans of ZOIDS and ZOIDS WILD ARENA can come together to create content around their favorite franchise while also owning a piece of history with these special ZOIDS NFTs,” said Sky Mavis’s Trung.

The beta version of ZOIDS WILD ARENA, currently in circulation, is set to make its global debut, excluding markets in Japan, China, and Korea, as it steps up to conquer the worldwide gaming landscape.
