Web3 wallet Bitski has just announced an integration with Polygon to simplify the web3 onboarding process for new users. The integration combines Bitski’s user-friendly interface with Polygon’s diverse ecosystem, providing a simple and secure way for non-crypto natives to access web3 and own digital assets.
In this partnership, Bitski users can access a number of features across the Polygon ecosystem right from the wallet. Users can also access Polygon-based wallets from other ecosystems as well as import keys from Polygon-based wallets to Bitski so they can manage their collectibles in one place.
Polygon gamers can store their digital assets within their Bitski Wallet, or in some cases, play the game within the Bitski iOS app. The wallet will also enable users to manage their Polygon NFT portfolio and trade collectibles on marketplaces like Magic Eden, Zora, Manifold, OpenSea and more by connecting with a dApp browser.
The integrated wallet also includes convenient features like automatic network switching between Polygon and Ethereum, putting the technology under the hood so that users don’t have to think about it. Users can also seamlessly toggle between desktop and mobile to interact with their Polygon assets.
To start using the wallet, users can set it up with an email and password or import their existing self-custody wallet. To ensure that transactions are safe, Bitski will simulate transactions to let users know what is happening before they press send. The new transaction simulation feature identifies malicious contracts and pulls verified OpenSea collection information into the signing screen to improve user safety and security.
The integration comes after Bitski launched its iOS wallet and browser extension in February. Beyond Polygon’s speed and affordability, Bitski chose to integrate with the Ethereum scaling solution as the company “genuinely agrees with their ethos on the evolution of blockchains,” Bitski CEO and co-founder Donnie Dinch told Metaverse Post.
We admire the chain’s focus on building scalable infrastructure that will broadly enable the ownership primitive of the internet. Polygon has already made progress on this vision by working with large consumer brands like Reddit, Starbucks, and Nike to onboard consumers into owning their own digital identities and assets—and we are confident that they will be a chain that will continue to bring more brands into Web3. We want to be there alongside them when that happens.
Dinch said.
In May 2021, Bitski raised $19 million in a Series A round led by a16z to become the Shopify for NFTs but has since switched its focus to its digital wallet. Bitski claims that it has seen over 190% growth in wallet set-up over the past year, It has worked with global brands like Red Bull, Adidas, Levi’s, and more to bring web3 experiences to the masses as one of the only wallets to offer email/password login.
