- Polygon Labs announces new partners with Immutable, intended to accelerate decentralized game development, and increasing Web3 adoption even further.
- The partnership will help to make the creation and development of Web3-enabled games smoother and faster for leading game studios.
In a recent announcement, Polygon has revealed a new partnership with Immutable. In a recently published blogpost, Polygon revealed that through its partnership with Immutanle, it will be building a dedicated gaming blockchain using zero-knowledge technology. The partnership is centered around accelerating decentralized game development and pushing mass adoption of Web3 in further, to a larger crowd.
“Immutable zkEVM, a new EVM-compatible ZK-rollup powered by Polygon technology and with full Immutable platform support, is slated for launch in the coming months. Starting today, Game Developers can get their hands on early documentation to begin early integration with Immutable zkEVM. Polygon stated in the blogpost.”
The blogpost further added that building on Immutable zkEVM with the Immutable Platform has the capacity to make the development of Web3-enabled games faster, easier and poses less risky for large game studios, as well as independent game developers.
“Polygon Labs and Immutable, crowned by Delphi Digital as “the undisputed champions of Ethereum gaming,” are coming together at an important juncture for Web3. Half of all blockchain activity in 2022 came from games and three-quarters of game developers expect to work on Web3 games in the future.” The blogpost read.
The network maintains that the collaboration from both platforms helps to break down the decision-making process for developers, by making it possible for the concept to launch phase to be much faster. Additionally, the partnership allows the largest and most liquid ecosystem to be opened up to end users.
Polygon solidifies its position in the gaming industry with the new partnership
Speaking about the partnership, Ryan Wyatt, The president of Polygon labs, disclosed that the partnership is a monumental step forward in Polygon’s mission to empower developers and make it possible for users to own their in-game assets.
He went on to assert that leveraging Immutable’s gaming platform, which is reputable for being a leading, global gaming platform, makes the process of game development more seamless. It also makes furthers the creation of rich and unique gaming experiences, Wyatt added.

The partnership further strengthens Polygon’s position in the gaming industry, as the Polygon network already boasts of being home to some of the largest gaming projects and publishers in the market. Ubisoft, Atari, Animoca, Decentraland, Somnium Space, and The Sandbox are some of the gaming projects built on the Polygon network. Polygon also boasts more than 220 million unique user addresses and hosts millions of decentralized applications, as well as leading global companies like Stripe, Adobe, and Robinhood.
Similarly, Immutable has also made its market in the Web3 gaming industry, with the creation of its gaming shop platform.m, which developers can utilize to enable them to create and launch Web3 games with built-in blockchain mechanics.
